GBI investigates death in Dawson

DAWSON, GA – GBI agents are investigating the death of 59 year old Annie Josie Chappell of Dawson, who was found deceased Monday afternoon at her Terrell County home.

Officers with the Dawson Police Department say Monday afternoon at 2:22, they responded to a call of an unresponsive person at a Boundary Street residence.

When officers arrived on scene, Chappell was found deceased inside the house.  Police believe she lived alone in the home.

But Chappell’s car, a 2006 Black Hyundai Elantra, is missing and police issued a BOLO (Be On The Look Out) for the car.  The car has a Georgia temporary tag (C0521643).

The Dawson Police Department has asked the GBI to assist in this death investigation.

A GBI Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy.
