Addu Chase Results In Death Of Beloved Family Dog

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Dougherty Drug Unit is investigating the case of a family’s dog who was shot to death during a police chase.

Ebony McBride recalled what happened on the evening of December 29, 2021, before her very eyes she saw ADDU conducting a police hunt for a woman. During that chase that was routed through her family’s yard McBrides dog, Spanky got a loose

“Me and my son, we was right there in the middle of the road with my dog a couple of steps away from him trying to grab his leash. He didn’t give me a chance to, he just shot him one time he dropped to the ground and then he shot him two more times.” says McBride.

Now, McBride says she and her family are emotionally traumatized. Though the family got two new dogs before Christmas, things won’t be the same without Spanky.

“Me and my kids we can’t sleep, it’s like everything that I do it remind me of my dog. When I’m cooking, when I’m using the restroom, even when I open to the door to take my kids to school it reminds me because he always tried to follow or come out.” says McBride.
