Albany police investigate shooting

ALBANY, Ga. – Albany police are investigating the Wednesday night shooting of 22-year-old Byron Ford.

Someone shot Ford in his lower back while he was in front of 923 South Street, according to a release from the police department.

Albany police were called to the area at 8:21 p.m. on a report of shots fired and when they arrived, they found Ford. An ambulance took Ford to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspect(s) and motive were not known to police as of 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to the department at 229-431-2132.
