Phoebe’s new ambulance for premature babies

ALBANY, GA- A ribbon cutting for Phoebe’s new NICU ambulance was held Wednesday. This ambulance was completely funded by donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Phoebe.
Phoebe is one of Georgia’s six state-designated regional perinatal centers, but due to their large 22-county service area the NICU transport team is picking up new borns weekly and brining them here to Phoebe from other hospitals for higher care.
Mindy Spencer with Phoebe’s neonatal transport says not only does this ambulance allow for better transportation for premature babies, but has enhanced safety features for both passengers and crew members working in the back of the ambulance.
“One of the coolest safety features for our crew members are it has 5 point harnesses where the crew member can actually stand up while remaining belted in so that they can take care of the patient yet still remain seat belted.” said Spencer
