KADB honors 2019 volunteers

(ALBANY, GA)- Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful honored their volunteers today, thanking them for their service in 2019.
In the last year, volunteers put in more than 150,000 into cleaning up Albany and Dougherty County.
Throughout 2019, Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful removed more than 2,500 pounds of debris from their Rivers Alive cleanup event, as well as painting over several dozen graffiti sites.
Albany Ward 1 Commissioner, Jon Howard was named Volunteer of the Year, and wants to see the county break the goals they set last year.
Commissioner Howard tells us, “We certainly are going to continue to enhance and encourage citizens. We can’t resolve trash and litter overnight. But we have to work as a team, work as an individual, and work as a community…”
According to Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful, more than 136,000 people volunteered to cleaning up the community in 2019.
