Thomasville History Center Hosts Red White and Blueberry Celebration

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomasville History Center will host its seventh annual Crate to Plate on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. This year’s theme, “Red, White, and Blueberry,” celebrates both Thomasville’s Bicentennial and America’s 250th anniversary with local flavor, live music, and fellowship on the History Center grounds.

Crate to Plate is the Thomasville History Center’s most important annual fundraising event, with proceeds directly supporting its programs, collections, historic buildings, and ongoing work to preserve and share the history of Thomasville, Thomas County, and the Red Hills region. 

Each crate serves two and comes packed in a substantial insulated nylon cooler bag in red or blue, designed to be taken home and reused long after the event. This year’s menu is built around local flavor and includes a charcuterie appetizer; spring mix salad with strawberries, blueberries, feta, and Burton Bramble’s dressing; scalloped potatoes; baked beans with beef; a full rack of Climmie’s BBQ ribs; and blueberry cobbler for dessert. Guests may choose red or white wine, or lemonade in place of wine, and each crate also includes a selection of small specialty items. 

“The inspiration for this year’s theme came naturally,” said Austin Bell, Executive Director of the Thomasville History Center. “Between Thomasville’s Bicentennial and America’s 250th anniversary, history is playing a big part in celebrations both here at home and across the country. Red, White, and Blueberry felt like a fun way to bring those milestones into Crate to Plate while celebrating some of the local flavors and traditions that make Thomasville special.” 

Guests may pick up their crates from the History Center between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. to enjoy at home or dine on the History Center grounds. Reserved covered seating and open bar access are available for sponsors, while additional seating for general guests will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; guests are also welcome to bring their own outdoor seating. A cash bar will be available for general guests. All attendees are invited to participate in the evening’s silent auction, featuring a variety of local and regional experiences, dining, attractions, and other packages. Jimbo Smith will provide live music through 8:00 p.m. and dine-in guests are welcome to remain on the grounds and enjoy the evening through the end of his performance.
