77th Annual Watermelon Days Parade in Cordele Saturday

CORDELE, Ga. – Get ready for the 77th Annual Watermelon Days Parade and Festival in Cordele this Saturday!

The parade starts out at 8:30 a.m. in the morning and makes its way through town, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and everything that makes the Watermelon Capital of the World that much sweeter.

Then, a full day of events is lined up at Georgia Veterans State Park. There will be live entertainment all day, the Junior Watermelon Eating Contest. the Seed Spitting Contest, and the newest addition – the Weiner Dog Race!

From vendors and food trucks to free ice-cold slices of watermelon, this Watermelon Festival should be the juiciest ever.
