Red Ruffed Lemur Babies Born at Wild Adventures in Valdosta
VALDOSTA, Ga. – Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta welcomed three Red Ruffed Lemurs to the world on April 25, 2026. The three adorable babies have been named Taylor, Red, and Majorie.
This birth is a crucial milestone, as Red Ruffed Lemurs are labeled as a critically endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List. It is estimated that the current population is under 10,000. Their parents, Val and Doug, have welcomed a litter of babies every year since 2023. Taylor, Red, and Marjorie are getting along very well with their siblings Swiper, Raven, Beans and Dennis.
Red Ruffed Lemurs can be found in the wild in Madagascar. They tend to be very active and vocal animals, with over 12 distinct calls, dubbing them as the “chatterboxes” of the forest.
Very soon, guests will be able to see Taylor, Red, and Majorie, alongside their parents in their habitat located near the Giraffe Overlook. They tend to be seen grooming one another, sunbathing, and leaping from surface to surface.
