It’s Time to Duck, Dodge, Dive … and Donate!

Throw, Catch, or Get out of the Way! Lowndes Associated Ministries to People, Inc. (LAMP) will hold its 7th Annual Charity Dodgeball Tournament at the Valdosta State University Recreation Center this Saturday, April 18th. This will be a co-ed tournament for ages 8 and up, and each team will consist of 6 players with 1 alternate. Registration begins at 8 A.M. and the first game starts 9.

Teams will face off for the coveted Champion’s Jersey, but they can also compete off the court by raising funds, the winner being crowned Fundraising Champion. Organizers state that the tournament is a great way to connect with the community and businesses are encouraged to participate. Sponsorships are still available, so businesses can support a great cause and gain valuable visibility with a team representing their brand on the court.

According to its website, LAMP provides temporary emergency shelter to men, women, and families, as well as comprehensive support services and innovative housing solutions that help put people on the path to a home. The organization is a 501(c)3 charitable organization serving those experiencing homelessness and living in Lowndes, Berrien, Brooks, Colquitt, Cook, Echols, Lanier, and Tift counties.

The Valdosta State University Recreation Center is located at 1300 Sustella Avenue in Valdosta. For more information about this event, email LAMP@lampinc.org.
