Annual Fitz Boogie skydiving event set for April 9-12 in Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD, Ga. – Skydivers and thrill-seekers from across the region are set to gather in Fitzgerald for a high-flying weekend of adventure and entertainment.

The annual Fitz Boogie celebration kicks off Thursday, April 9, at Paulk Park and runs through Sunday, April 12, bringing four days of skydiving, live entertainment, and themed festivities.

The event features organized jumps for all experience levels, including tandem skydives, giving beginners the opportunity to jump from a plane alongside a trained instructor. Tandem jump packages are available, with pricing starting at $249 and additional options for video packages.

A major highlight this year is the expected appearance of the historic DC-3 aircraft known as Mr. Douglas. Organizers say the plane will offer a limited number of lift tickets for participants looking for a unique skydiving experience, with availability expected to be limited.

Beyond the sky, the event also includes a full lineup of nightly entertainment. Attendees can enjoy themed parties like “Fiesta Friday,” “Rock n Roll Saturday,” and “Slumber Party Sunday,” along with live music, comedy, food, and social events throughout the weekend.

Registration is now open, with pre-registration priced at $150 and on-site registration at $175. Registration includes a jump ticket, with additional options available for tandem jumps, RV site reservations, and event merchandise.

Organizers say the event continues to grow each year, offering both experienced skydivers and newcomers a chance to take part in a one-of-a-kind experience both in the air and on the ground.
