Douglas community invited to give back on White Cane Day

DOUGLAS, Ga. – A local fundraiser is set to support the visually impaired community during White Cane Day in Coffee County.

Chick-fil-A Douglas is partnering with the Douglas Lions Club on Wednesday, March 25 for an all-day event from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Organizers say 100% of cookie sales that day will be donated to the Douglas Lions Club. In addition, customers placing mobile orders can choose to support White Cane Day, with a portion of proceeds also going toward the cause.

Funds raised will help support programs for the visually impaired, including providing glasses, funding surgeries, and supporting camps.

Members of the Douglas Lions Club will be on-site from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to share more about their work and accept additional donations.

Community members are encouraged to participate and help make a difference through the one-day fundraiser.
