Three vehicle crash on Liberty results in injuries

Injury Accident

ALBANY, GA – The Albany Police Department responded to a three-vehicle crash on the Liberty Expressway earlier today.

According to the police report, Wayne Wilson and Gregory Parker, both of Albany, were traveling east in separate vehicles in the 800 block of the expressway in the right-hand lane. Wilson attempted to make an abrupt lane change and sideswiped a tractor-trailer being driven by Stephen Demorest, 47, of Keysville.

Mr. Wilson lost control of his vehicle as it spun from the impact, then struct the dump truck being driven by Mr. Parker. As a result, the dump truck then spun into the concrete bridge rail.

Two drivers reported injuries, while the operator and passenger in the tractor-trailer reported no injuries. Wilson was cited for improper lane change. Traffic was backed up for some time due to the wreck.
