Popes Museum to host 5K Fundraiser honoring women veterans March 14 in Cairo

CAIRO, Ga. — This Saturday, March 14, runners and walkers of all ages can lace up for a meaningful cause at the first 5K Fundraiser honoring women veterans, hosted by Popes Museum. The event kicks off at Davis Park, located at 326 1st Street NE in Cairo, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the run starting promptly at 8:00 a.m.

The family-friendly event aims to bring the community together while supporting the ongoing restoration efforts of Popes Museum and shining a spotlight on the service of women veterans. Participants of all skill levels are welcome to join, whether walking or running. The entry fee is $20 per person, and all proceeds go toward helping the museum continue its mission of preserving local history and honoring veterans.

This fundraiser offers a chance for the community to celebrate and support women who have served, while enjoying an active morning at one of Cairo’s central parks.
