Cordele Police arrest suspect following morning shooting near Joe Wright Drive February 28

CORDELE, Ga. – The Cordele Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday morning, February 28th, around 11:00 a.m. near Joe Wright Drive and 24th Avenue.

Thanks to a coordinated effort with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, officers located and arrested a 29-year-old male suspect at a nearby residence. The suspect was cooperative and has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. A firearm believed to be connected to the incident was recovered.

Authorities say the victims were not injured, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
