APD: 2 year old’s fatal shooting may be self-inflicted
Police respond to Hilltop Drive apartment and discover fatality

ALBANY, GA – For the second time this month, an Albany youngster suffers a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
Monday just before 4pm, Albany Police say they received a call to a Hilltop Drive apartment where they found a deceased two year old male child.
Police say the child had suffered a gunshot wound to his head and are currently trying to determine whether the child’s death was self-inflicted.
It’s the second such fatal shooting of an Albany child this month.
Last Wednesday, 9 year old Nigel Brown of Albany was laid to rest after he was fatally shot in the head as he slept during a drive-by shooting of his family’s West Gordon Avenue home back on August 8th.
Police are currently on scene at the Hilltop Drive and are interviewing witnesses at the Late Enforcement Center, adding they’ll release more information as it becomes available.
South Georgia Television News’ Samantha Cook is on the scene as well.
