Escaped Sumter inmate sought

AMERICUS, GA – Sumter County deputies have issued a statewide bulletin to law enforcement after this morning’s escape of an inmate at the Sumter County Correctional Institute.

Sheriff’s officials confirm 30 year old Rodriquez Germany is the subject of their manhunt.

Deputies say Germany escaped the facility early this morning where he was serving his sentence for burglary, methamphetamine and marijuana possession convictions.

The Richmond County, Georgia resident is described as 5’9 and approximately 190 pounds.

Investigators believe Germany may have stolen a gray 2010 Honda Accord to aid in his getaway.

The vehicle has a personalized Georgia license tag bearing BA1LEE.
