South Georgia Technical College’s Jamiah Gregory wins GCAA women’s Player of the Year; Freshman of the Year
AMERICUS, GA – South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets freshman Jamiah Gregory was selected as the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) 2025 Player of the Year and the Freshman of the Year in the Division 1 women’s basketball conference.
“I had surgery last year on my shoulder, so it’s just unbelievable that I’m in this spot right now,” Gregory said. “I played five games last year, and then I’m freshman year and player of the year, so it’s just it’s crazy. It’s something hard to believe. My parents, they’ve always told me, as long as you work hard, keep your head down and just keep up, then everything else will fall in line.”
Gregory leads the conference with 15.8 points per game while also finishing with 6.5 rebounds, two assists and three steals per game in 29 games.
What she does as a player is special, but truly, it’s the leadership she brings every day as a captain on our team and as a motivator,” said Lady Jets head basketball coach Jason Carpenter. “It’s been it’s been a joy to culture and watch her just blossom to continue to get better and better.”
