Fitzgerald man accused of bringing child to stabbing

Police say a child witnessed their 21 year old father Jorge Macario stab a man in head and stomach

CORDELE, GA – A Fitzgerald man faces charges of aggravated assault, criminal trespass and child cruelty after a stabbing incident at an area fast-food restaurant over the weekend.

Cordele Police say just after midnight Sunday morning, they responded to a reported stabbing at the Sonic on 16th Avenue and found the victim with wounds to his head and abdomen. The victim was taken to Crisp Regional Hospital for treatment.

Police say they determined 21 year old Jorge Macario as the suspect. Police say Macario fled the scene prior to their arrival. Officers say Macario’s child was with him at the time of the incident and witnessed the stabbing.

Macario was later arrested by Fitzgerald Police and taken to Crisp County Detention Center.

No word on the condition of the stabbing victim.
