APD: more victims in Monday shootings
Albany Police now say 7 people were injured from Harding St & Rosedale shootings

ALBANY, GA – Albany Police have upgraded the victim count from Monday shootings in the Harding Street & Rosedale areas.
APD’s Public Information Officer Phyllis Whitley-Banks says there are 7 victims in all from yesterday’s shootings in the 700 block of North Harding Street and the 800 block of Rosedale.
Initially, APD put the victim count at 3.
But as APD’s Gang Suppression Unit investigates, they now report that there was a total of 7 victims, detailing the victims as 6 juveniles and 1 adult.
In Tuesday’s update, Banks says the 3 victims initially accounted for were wounded from gunshots. The trio are a senior citizen and two teenagers; identified as 76 year old Peggy Thornton, 16 year old Alfonso Winchester and 13 year old Desean Smith.
An off-white SUV with tinted windows may have been used as a getaway vehicle.
As of now, no suspects have been formally identified.
