Americus man charged in Perry murder

PERRY, GA – A Sumter County man and a Houston County woman are accused of killing a 77 year old man Saturday night at an apartment complex in Perry.

Police say they’ve arrested and charged 19 year old Cornelius Reyshawn Wallace Murray of Americus and 18 year old Natasha Sincere Culpepper of Centerville in the Saturday slaying of Willie Jacox.

Jacox was found dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds as officers arrived to the Mason Terrace Apartments in response to a “shots fired” call Saturday night around 11:15.

Police say witnesses spotted the pair leaving the crime scene and after their subsequent investigation, both were arrested on capital murder charges. Culpepper facing an additional charge of party to a crime.

Both were being held at the Houston County Detention Center at last report.
