Pelham High School holds third annual youth softball camp
PELHAM, GA – Tuesday morning, Pelham High School hosted its 3rd annual Lady Hornets Softball Camp for young ladies from Kindergarten thru 8th grade, where they worked with coaches and players on how to be better at the sport.
“For our team, it’s supposed to build our high school players and to build our middle school players and they build our future Pelham hornets,” said Pelham head softball coach Cathe Hoskins. “We want to be able to let our players learn the skills that we use in the fundamental so well that they can teach them to other people, and then teach them the leadership skills and the teamwork skills and the communication and all the things that come from working with other people and teaching other people how to do something.”
But it was more than just working on the fundamentals. Coach Hoskins said the team put everything into this camp.
“From building the flyers, designing our shirts, putting the motto or the theme that they want to have for this camp on their shirts, creating the meal menus creating the registration forms, they have literally done every piece of this,” Hoskins said. “It’s just such a sense of pride for me and my coaching staff to see this all come to fruition with all these girls.”
