GBI called to Worth officer involved shooting
Investigators on scene per agency's tweet

SYLVESTER, GA- The GBI says it is investigating an officer involved shooting in Worth County that’s left an Albany man recovering from a gunshot wound.
Agents say just before 8:30 Thursday morning, 28 year old Antwain Wade refused to pull over for a Worth County deputy who was trying to initiate a traffic stop on Wade’s vehicle on Highway 82.
A chase ensued and then ended near County Line Road in Sylvester.
Wade apparently ignored the deputy’s command to step out of his vehicle, instead driving in the direction of the deputy who fired on the car.
The GBI says the suspect was hit, taken to a nearby hospital for treatment where he’s currently listed in serious condition.
The deputy was unharmed.
