Albany Tech honors Lem Griffin

ATC remembers the late Lemuel Griffin by renaming street of campus' main entrance

ALBANY, GA – On Friday, Albany Technical College will honor the late Lemuel Griffin, by renaming Career Drive after him.

Griffin, who passed away last year, was a longtime member of the Albany Tech Foundation Board of Trustees.

Friday morning, ATC will hold a special dedication in Griffin’s memory.

Career Drive, the street which serves as the main campus entrance from Slappey Boulevard, will be renamed Lem Griffin Memorial Drive.

The renaming ceremony will be held at 10 am in front of the Logistics Education Center.

Community dignitaries as well as Griffin’s family members are expected to attend.

Next Friday, Albany Tech will honor another longtime supporter, the late Robert Chester.

Chester, a member of the Albany Technical College Board of Directors, will be remembered in a memorial plaque unveiling in the College’s Executive Board Room on the second floor of the Logistics Education Center.

The ceremony is also set for 10am on Friday, March 19th.
