Albany brewer confirms facility targeted in cyberattack
Molson Coors corporate confirms Albany plant is now in limited operation mode

ALBANY, GA- One of the city’s largest employers has been hobbled by a computer based attack and confirms the hack has impacted operations.
The Miller Coors Brewery on Cordele Rd was hit earlier this week by computer hackers.
The company confirms they were targeted and they are responding to the threat, but will not delve into specifics of the incident or aftermath.
Thursday afternoon, two days after our initial inquiry for information, Molson’s corporate office sent us the following statement regarding the Albany plant cyberattack.
“Molson Coors experienced a systems outage that was caused by a cybersecurity incident. We have engaged a leading forensic IT firm to assist our investigation into the incident and are working around the clock to get our systems back up as quickly as possible. We will continue to communicate with our business partners with updates,” says Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Officer Adam Collins.
Chicago-based Molson representative Marty Maloney tells us approximately 500 employees work at their Albany brewing facility, but exactly how many have been idled by the attack she does not say.
