Georgia Veterans triathlon sees a successful weekend
Matt Triick wins event for eighth year in a row
CORDELE, GA – The annual Georgia Veterans triathlon took place over the weekend that saw over 100 participants competing in swimming, biking, and running.
The swim was 400 yards, bike ride was 13.6 miles, and run was a 5k. For some athletes, they just wanted to compete, but for others their goal was to be better than they were last year.
To no one’s surprise, Matt Triick won the triathlon for the eighth straight year. He said his goal is to keep going until he loses, but after he finished his race in less than an hour – one second less than his time last year – it does not look like that will happen any time soon.
The top three overall men and women in the run were awarded with medals and trophies and a chance to come back in 2024 to try and dethrone the champion.
