Melvin Peterson

“First it was small shots and then all of a sudden it got louder shots,  and there were so many shootings I just jumped up and ran in the house. Because there was so much shooting going on I jumped up and ran,” says witness Melvin Peterson.

Shots were heard and bullet casings were found in the 600 and 500 block of Poplar Street and the 1200 block of Avalon Avenue.

Javontae

“When I went to look I heard like 15 shots and when I looked down the road I seen a truck going real fast and turn, like when the tires ‘skurr’, that’s what I heard. There’s too much going on out here,” says witness Javontae Loud.

Multiple witnesses in the area say bullets were flying everywhere. While no injuries are being reported at this time, four houses and 2 vehicles were damaged.

“You can hear all the shooting coming through the trees hitting up carports and everything,” says witness Rufus Moody.

“It scared me, it really scared me to tell you the truth. It was too close,” says Peterson.

APD says the shooting is still under investigation and that anyone with any information can call the department directly or call Crime Stoppers.
