Sylvester Police investigating Wednesday night shootout

(SYLVESTER, Ga)- The Sylvester Police Department are looking for individuals involved in an incident at a Sylvester convenience store Wednesday evening escalated into a shootout.

Sylvester Police Chief, Raymond Drennen says the situation originally started over two men getting into an argument over a woman, who was one of the men’s sister.

Drennen tells us over the phone that the situation originally started as a fist fight between the two and grew to involve an estimated 10 people.

Law enforcement found a rifle used during the incident, but no one was injured.

Chief Drennen says no one is in police custody at this time, but several people are under investigation

The Sylvester police have surveillance video from the store of the incident, but won’t release it until the investigation is finished.
