Royce Reeves makes court appearance

CORDELE, GA – Cordele City Commissioner Royce Reeves is set to go to trial after he was charged in 2021 for obstructing an officer, violation of oath by a public officer, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

According to court documents Commissioner Reeves allegedly grabbed and pushed an officer twice in attempts to resist arrest while trying to check on his friend who was involved in a crash along 24th Avenue in Cordele.

Wednesday morning Commissioner Reeves and his attorney were in court providing an answer to Crisp County Judge Denise Fachini on whether or not they are ready to go to trial.

When the commissioner was asked to comment Tuesday, he refused to speak with us.
