Federal search warrant executed at 13 locations in Cook and Tift counties

In a joint operation involving the FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, GBI, Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Adel Police Department, and Hahira Police Department, federal search warrants were executed at 13 locations in Cook and Tift Counties this morning.

4. 609 West 6th Street, Adel
5. 307 South Martin Luther King Drive South, Adel
6. 418 South Martin Luther King Drive South, Adel
7. 817 Turkey Drive, Adel
8. 306 South Oak Street, Adel
9. Cook County, Georgia, Parcel 0016104 (also known as 1041 and 1011 Antioch Greggs
Road, Adel)
10. 2301 South Hutchinson Avenue, Adel
11. 1100 South Gordon Avenue, Apartment B, Adel
12. 157 Deerfield Drive, Sparks

A search warrant was executed in Tift County, Georgia:

13. 1319 Ty Omega Road, Lot 9, Tifton

14 firearms were seized during this morning’s operation at 1319 Ty Omega Road, Lot 9, Tifton: ten pistols, one rifle, two assault rifles, and one shotgun.3.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 725 grams of cocaine, 288.8 grams of cocaine base, 74.4 grams of MDMA, 81.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, 9.8 kilograms of THC, and 1,000 different prescription pills were also discovered.

State charges have been leveled against three individuals who were taken into state custody: Sr. Calvin James Smith, 54, of Adel, is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; The charges against Joe Smith, 52, of Sparks, include trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession of a firearm while committing a felony, and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Additionally, Justin Thompson, 35, of Adel, has been charged with engaging in illegal street gang activity. Calvin James Smith, Jr., 33, of Tifton, Georgia, is wanted from the state for trafficking methamphetamine, possessing cocaine, possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute, and manufacturing, selling, or possessing 28 grams or more of MDMA.

Unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law, all defendants are presumed innocent. This investigation continues.
