Dougherty Co. Health Department promotes National Public Health Week

(ALBANY, Ga)- The Dougherty County Health Department is starting off April by raising awareness for National Public Health Week.

It runs from Monday, April 1st through Sunday, April 7th.

The health department is observing Public Health Week on Saturday, April 6th.

They will be holding a health fair that is open to the public.

Events at the fair will include cooking lessons for diabetics, HIV and blood pressure screenings, and immunizations to name a few.

Dougherty County Health Department Immunization Coordinator, Beverly Reid tells us, “We want to show the community that we are involved, and that we do care. There are some things that we can help provide, and help promote, and look at us as part of your health team.”

The health fair will be on the departments grounds at 1710 S. Slappey Boulevard in Albany.

It starts at 9 A.M. on Saturday morning and running through 1 P.M. that afternoon.
