Dooly County honors public safety workers

UNADILLA, Ga. — The Dooly County Chamber of Commerce held their annual Public Safety Dinner Tuesday night as a way of say “Thank You” to those that serve their community so diligently.

Public safety personnel enjoyed the time to just laugh and enjoy themselves.

Public safety personnel were treated to a BBQ dinner with all the fixings; Brunswick stew, baked beans, coleslaw with banana pudding and peach cobbler for dessert. Each person attending received a door prize, courtesy of one of the many businesses that contributed items for the event.

Attending were members of the Georgia State Patrol, Dooly County Sheriff’s office, local police and fire departments, EMS, city and county government and public works employees.

“This is one of the chamber’s favorite events each year,” said Amanda

This year is kind of special with what we went through back in October with Hurricane Michael. It is an opportunity for us to give thanks and let these guys know we appreciate what they do.”
